hey guys I have a mamiya c220 and before I bet on one I just want to make sure a 18cm lens is compatible to the body like a 180mm one is. Thanks in advance.

Am 18cm lens is, of course, also a 180mm lens .

I expect that you are asking if the older, chrome shutter versions of the lens will work as well as the newer black shutter versions of the lens on your camera.

As per Graham Patterson's excellent Mamiya TLR System Summary, the oldest versions of the lens may need modification to work on the auto-cocking bodies like the C33 or C330. But the C220 doesn't offer auto-cocking, so there should be no issue.

Should be in a Seikosha-S shutter, and will be fine on a C220.

If you have a Seikosha-MX shutter then there may be problems getting the shutter release to trip. But that shutter was not supplied as standard with a 180mm (18cm) lens.

As mentioned above, it will work straight away on the C220.

As as i've mentioned before in the past, everybody is crazy about the "180mm SUPER" lens, but the classic 18cm/180mm lens ("non-super") has really really beautiful bokeh and it is very sharp (at least, mine was, at f11). You know, i had the classic 180, sold it to get the "super", and then sold the super and bought again a classic 180...
