In regular use, my Mamiya 180mm Super shutter seems to have broken. When I try to cock the shutter (lens pictured here: http://arukucamera.net/selling/C330_180mm01s.jpg ) there is absolutely no pressure, cocking sound, anything on the X-flash sync setting. Interestingly, on the M-sync, which happens to be the one closer to the cocking lever, there is a tiny sound, like a short bit of the cocking sound, but still little to no resistance in the mechanism. I can't trip the lever to fire the shutter, it acts as though the shutter is not cocked.
When I change speeds on the lens, at arbitrary numbers (like 1/4s, 1s, and 1/50th) it makes the "Oh ****...." sound of changing speeds while the shutter's cocked, but I definitely didn't manage to cock it with the cocking lever. I probably managed to knock the speeds out of whack, if not ruin it, just by that, but that's what it does.
I've done everything I can to try and break into the screws holding the back plate on, which seems to be the only way to even possibly get into the shutter. Is there anything I can do externally to try and fix this thing, or should I send it off, or should I trash it?
