Mamiya 180 f4.5 RB67 lens help

First post here!
I just picked up a rb67 with a 180 f4.5 on the cheap and noticed this little loose ring beside the rear element. Any advice on what it is and why it might be loose?

I tweaked your thread title slightly, because there are a lot of different Mamiya 180 mm lenses out there.

That part is one of three light baffles on the rear of the lens. Two of them are glued in place and can come loose. The large baffle has notches for a spanner wrench, it gets removed and then you can re-glue your loose baffle to it...

Thank you so much for the reply! Really appreciate it! Sounds beyond me so I'll fire it off for repair but at least I know the issue now. What a lovely forum. So glad I joined!

Well, as one might guess from his handle, Mamiya-Repair is in fact a Mamiya repairer. I sent him an RB67 lens that had a slow shutter a few months ago (sadly, it wasn't economically repairable, but he let me know that promptly and charged only return shipping to get the lens back).

Hi all, thanks so much for your interest and advice. I received my RB67 and 180 4.5 C back from a wonderful repair technician here in Dublin called Clive McDonnell. He repaired the light baffle pictured above and serviced the camera including back. All light seals replaced (including mirror box), replacement of one side panel and front name panel attached to bellows front as well as worn mirror cocking lever. Also a repair on a frame counter issue on pro s back.
All working beautifully and what a pleasure to use! Highly recommend Clive. Fastidious, skillful and reasonable. I'm delighted.

I thought for the Rb67

180 non c
180 c

virtually the same except coating

KL lenses Pretty Rare 180 and looks different from back of shutter
cocking mechanism used mostly on SD version.

180 C or non C. The answer is C is better. Better contrast, better against-the-light. With the light coming from behind the camera (a low flare situation) the non C lens is passable and the difference between C and non C is minimised. Other situations, non C fails to hold contrast.
