I'm mostly a Minolta 16mm user, and it's unfortunately that Minolta left off tripod sockets and cable release connections from their cameras. There are accessories that can be added, but they are a nuisance. Plus most Mamiya's have a focusing lens.

That Minipod has been around for a long time. It is nice as a handgrip (if that's your thing) or a table-top tripod -- for submini or 35mm cameras, but not small. The non-adjustable "feet/legs" slide out of the bottom.

Small is a relative term that only the user can define to their purpose.

Plenty of options have been presented to the OP; now they have to decide what works!

Lots of options. One of the various "mini-pods" even has a velcro strap attached to it -- so that you can attach the thing to any pole / skinny tree / etc. that happens to be handy.
