Did Mallinckrodt ever market their own Developers ? If so when & what ?

I have a Mallinckrodt book of formulae & chemical pricest and they state categorically that they don't publish developer formulae, but I've reference to a developer elsewhere.

And on the subject of Developers, has anyone ever seen an MSDS for Kodak Microdol (NOT Microdol-X) I think it disappeared well before any MSDS' where written as Microdol-X replaced it in 1961/2.

I know for sure they sold a D23 they called SoftOne
paper label ..1955-1965?

sounds like they're saying they give out generic formulas but not their own branded ones

of Edwal Micrograin-85
Edwal marketed it after buying Albert SPecialty, I believe
It was originally created by J.V. Mansfield -photo-research laboratories

Oddly enough
This Micrograin-85 was in an Edwal 20 Replenisher canister ..they just slapped a new label on it.
At first I was wondering if maybe they just decided the replenisher worked well as it's own devloper

It possibly has PPD in it

popular fine grain developers of the era were Finex, microdol, and micrograin-85

I also have Edwal thermofine of about the same vintage


the micrograin has the same exact mixing instructions as the e-20 replenisher

I have a thin book, really a booklet, from them that says the same thing. They did supply hydroquinone as I remember buying it.
