Hand made bookmaking for beginners, a 2 day workshop, July 23 and 24th 10:00 - 4:00
Join Queens, NY photographer Rocio de Alba for a two-day workshop on bookmaking at VCP! At the end of the weekend, participants will walk away with one finalized book (or more), plus a very cool art box filled with very helpful book making products & tools. The first day will be about reviewing tools, measurements, deciding covers for the books (chipboard, corrugated sheets, and/or the sketch book cover themselves) and creating a prototype. On Sunday you will bring photographs of a series to create a cohesive narrative or family photos to make a scrapbook and finish off with a FINAL version of the book.
Learn to make
• Saddle Stick Binding
• Coptic Binding
• An accordion Book (if there is time)
• A mini Meander book (very easy and it only takes one 12 x 12″ card stock)
