Making f-stop scale for "generic" timer

Hi All,

is there any reason why I should not take a screwdriver to my enlarger timer and insert an f-stop scale?

Or even just use some sort of luminous marker to mark 5, 7, 10, 14, 20, 28, 40 and 56 seconds?

Any tips out there on doing this?

A calculator for f/stop calculations

FWIW, I keep a calculator in the darkroom and use that to calculate exposure changes.

It's an old Novus, which boasts a red LED display, and uses a 9-volt battery. I can use it with paper out and not worry about fogging it. I bought it in the Eaton's Bargain Basement in Toronto, in 1976, for $15.00.

Canadian APUGgers will no doubt remember Eaton's AND their bargain basement...
