I got some Adox Adotol Konstant bags each to make 5L of working strength developer.
I wonder if I can put the contents of the bag into say 2.5L of water thus making it twice stronger and then when needed dilute it to working strength from this stock solution. Does this sound viable?
I've read something similar here about Xtol or some other powder developer.
Thanks!

Shouldn't be a problem.

If it doesn't all dissolve at 2x you can always add more water to bring it up to 5l.

Dektol/D-72 stock solution is usually diluted 1:2 for use (though some prefer 1:1 - the 'proper' dilution is a religious thing, best not argue about it).

Making up 2.5l and then splitting it up into 500ml bottles would be convenient - then 500 ml of developer is premeasured for making up a 1l/32oz tray of developer.

Thank you, Nicholas!

Can I expect this stronger solution to have better keeping properties than usual stock, what do you think?

I've done exactly this with Dektol -- mixed in half the water. It took hottish water to get it all dissolved, but it wasn't that bad, and two years ago I used some of the double strength stock (by that time, seventeen years old, stored in smaller bottle than the original 9.5L volume) and it still worked.

Oh then it must be your experience to which I referred in the first message of this thread.
Thanks for the info!
