David Zwirmer Gallery in Los Angeles is restaging their 2022 New York exhibition, which in turn was a recreation of the 1972 MoMA Show Catatclysm, a posthumous retrospective of Diane Arbus' work. There are 113 photos and when the show first opened at MoMA, it caused quite a sensation. Arbus and her work were little-known then and the press ran some pretty harsh criticism of the photos. In turn, it proved to be the most-visited photo show in the museum's history, with lines around the block to get in.
