Well, good or bad? It is a double edged sword I guess. Having such a collection legally in the hands of a private investment company, instead of a national archive or something, doesn't sound as a particularly good idea. But since it seems the whole lot ends up being preserved in a significant museum collection as part of the deal, it might not be bad after all...

I at least hope that doesn't happen what we have recently seen here in the Netherlands. The owner of one of the Dutch banks, who recently went bankrupt partly because of the banking crisis, had amassed a very important collection of (Dutch) surrealistic paintings, that was supposed to be shown in a new large museum already 80% percent finished being constructed at the time of the bankruptcy. The collection is now seized by the curators responsible for dealing with the bankruptcy, and it's future as a significant and major collection of art is now unsure... The collection may well end up being sold in bits and pieces.
