For those who have been with APUG long enough to remember the cry of the dreaded two letter troll, "Magenta is not a color" Dedicated to PE and the others that put up with his bull$#!+

I dearly miss the good technical contributions in the Kodachrome thread, as PE had lots of insights written. Of course, he has had to put up with much BS and keep repeating some of the knowledge.

Two letter trol might be in Magenta land by now

It’s none of my business but I think you misspelled fuchsia.
 
I only recognize red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet as colors. Everything else is made up by the greedy paint industry.

Just goes to show what damage Trolls can do, PE. I clearly missed the original troll thread but picked up a statement from you in another thread that made the point that magenta was not a colour. I have often wondered since then what it was that decided you it wasn't a colour and now know it was part of a standing joke. Against a troll humour is like a deadly nerve gas

The only one who said that magenta was not a color was the two letter troll, not PE. Magenta is obviously a color but not a single wavelength; magenta can be made from combinations of various color is numerous combinations, but that was beyond the knowledge of the two letter troll whose name we do not speak.
 
Thanks Sirius. I understand now that it was PE's humour against a troll and that his comment on another thread or it might even have been the offending thread that maybe I hadn't followed, was part of his deadly nerve gas attack called humour on the troll

Unless PE takes that same deadly draught that infected Dr Jekyll and becomes a different person of another two letters a la Mr Hyde then no, I never even considered that he was the troll.

Put it all down to that strange Limey sense of humour

In case many of you have not noticed, color in some parts of photography are mixtures of colors, not colors in themselves. Such as cyan, and magenta for instance. so you could probably say neither one is a color. Aren't these mostly dyes? Didn't Kodachrome make its palette of colors differently? Don't ask me how? I have been told but don't remember. Don't have those problems if you only shoot black and white. I am talking about color, not my memory........Regards!
 
Cyan and Yellow are Colors and exist on the spectrum of colors. Magenta is a combination (or lack) of two colors. And, here we go again. (Quoting Cosmo Topper for those as old as me)

One really had to be here when the two letter troll haunted APUG to understand the many levels of humor.
 
My whole family trolls me with a Brain Games episode on color where they said green (for example) is everything but green, referring to how a green surface absorbs all other colors and reflects green.

Cannot describe the level of annoyance with that incoherent babble.
 
Magenta isn't a colour - it is a philosophy!
