I have a Vivitar 90mm F2.8 macro lens. S/N 288xxxxxx. It's missing the three setscrews which hold the Focusing Ring in place. The repair manual lists these as SETSCREW 1.7X3.0, presumably specifying the diameter and length. Metric screws are not classified in that way, but by thread pitch and diameter, thus numbers like M2.2x3.0.

I see the Vivitar Series 1 90mm f2.5 repair manual lists M1.7x3.5 setscrews on the depth of field ring, so perhaps they are metric.

Any suggestions where I might find proper setscrews?

Also any recommendation for someone to clean and lubricate a lens near San Diego?

I'm sure there are plenty of camera repair shops in your area that will have the screws, and could reset the distance correctly -- or you could do it yourself. You might not need a CLA, and that would probably cost more that a replacement. I had that lens -- very nice lens -- but they sell on EBAY for about $30.

It makes me wonder why the screws are missing. Did someone try it "fix" a problem, and give up? Unless you know otherwise, I wouldn't spend time with it.

Thanks everyone for the help. The Amazon flathead screw assortment might be a little rough on the fingers, but I found a roundhead screw assortment that should work well, and with 50 pieces of each size give me plenty to drop on the floor. Polarbear had a exact part but with shipping $16.55. Amazon with prime, only $8.89.

My Vivitar Series 1 90mm lens is too heavy for me to handhold now and this lens is close to that point. Attached 1:1 shot of LCD screen.
