Hi All,

I was shooting the second last frame of a roll
of film today with 'Mirror Lock-up' and the
mirror has jammed permanently in the up position
and the curtain has not fully closed either.

If I click the M-Up lever back to normal the mirror
does not follow, I cannot advance to the next frame
either, a different back doesnt solve the prob either,
basically I have tried everything simple I think!
the whole system seems to be just locked up
on the body, I have read that the super can
generate such problems.

Is there a quick fix or does the body have to go
through open heart surgery?

I had this happen few times with my Super. Remove the battery and reinsert. Or, better yet, use a fresh battery.... I don't know if it's power cycling or fresh battery that did it, but this process did unlock mine.

That happens with Mamiya's when the battery dies it's sudden, not sure about the Super but on earlier models pressing the battery test button closes the shutter. Then the mirror lock can be released as well. While the shutters not fully closed the mirror will stay fully open.
