if sent by UPS it doesn't matter which country it was sent from because it wouldn't be delivered at all.

Sending my camera by UPS had been the only option for me as it is the only Parcel Service offering 'Delivery Duries Payed' for non commercial senders in Germany. The problems getting it to cameraworks were not caused by UPS but by UK Customs. In other respects DHL is working fast and reliable.

Whenever I buy from Leica Classics they use UPS and all goes well. So the statement above is a bit over the top.

And a statement so patently untrue would be called a joke anywhere except a photography forum.
Everyone here is willing to believe you've had bad experiences with UPS, but the notion that anything sent through UPS will not be delivered at all is evidently over the top; @RezaLoghme is entirely correct in noting that.

Now quit bickering.

What is "untrue" about my statement?`

Exactly, my statement was so patently untrue and over the top nobody was expected to believe it, including yourself. It was a throwaway line to emphasise a point that had been brought up about reliability. Nobody really believes 'a horse walked int a bar and asked the barman....' because it is so patently untrue, yet the statement is accepted because it leads to the punchline.

A week ago, I sent my 1936 IIIa and summar lens to DAG for a full overhaul and shutter repair. Hopefully, in a few short weeks, I'll be able to say the same thing!

It's back! My IIIa returned 8 weeks after it was delivered to DAG. I didn't realize how dirty the lens, rangefinder, and viewfinder were until I looked through them and i could see clearly!
