M2 and his younger cousin M8.2

daleeman

Greetings,
I've been using my M2 for quite some time, years actually and have been just reading the light on sunny 16 terms. 5 years ago I was given a Leica M8.2 by my wife and I am often out and about with the pair of them. My favorite pair of lenses are the 28mm and 50mm.

Wondered if anyone else walked with this combination? The 50 is a VC Nokton f1.5 LTM with an adapter, the 28 F2.8 Elmar is a great lens. I just shoot full frame through the M2 finder with it, like everything I see is just about right through the finder.

Looking to do a new project this spring on graffiti on rail cars and wonder if I should swap out lenses for a longer one? A 35mm and 90mm combination?

I would tend to use the wider-angle of the two lenses that you have in order to make sure that the viewer knows for certain what the "art-work" (and some are "art") is on if that is important in your opinion. If it is just the artwork that you are interested in, I guess any good (Leica) 90mm or 135mm would do fine. Me, I like railcars also, hence the shorter focal length......Regards!
