I have a yashica Lynx 5000e that won't return to S when the film back is opened. I have seen the yashica guy and other yashica websites about how to fix this and they all say that it is likely the gummed up foam. But this foam had been changed already. Still I used a small flat-head screw driver to to go around the counter tab that is at the top when the film door is open and the foam was not obstructing the pin. But the tab is not parallel with the camera door as I think it should be from the pictures I've seen online. It is actually at a slight angle and when I run the screwdriver under the tab and lift up on it the counter goes back to S. So I'm thinking maybe when it was refurbished that tab was not put back on straight and perhaps I could just take the top off and straighten that tab.
Has anyone else done this or is familiar with this problem? It is definitely the position of that tab and not any foam obstructing it.
