I recently came across this lumedyne system through a friend and after doing some research I have realized that this equipment is a whole different arena than what I do. I basically like to take pretty and interesting pictures with my digital camera and this stuff... I dont even know where to start with setting up lighting equipment and battery chargers etc sooo...

Can someone help me to figure out how to get this to someone who will use it and also what its worth?

What I have is 4 pieces that come apart and connect together
2 #067X 400 W/S FAST POWER PACKS 81854fp & 80506fp
1 ULTRA CHARGER System 244 100 #018 81548uo
1 micro slave
1 larger resin plug that has computer stuff inside it.

and two Sun Gun II lights that I believe are entirely separate and do not go with the lumedyne equipment which is much more professional.

I have done some research and found similar and I think newer models that correlate with these on the lumedyne site and there was so much it was difficult for me to be sure of what I was looking at exactly to get an accurate comparison.

Thanks,

Tj

hey tj

i'm not sure what the resin plug is ... nothing written on it ?

the 067 units are battery operated flash units
for lights that will work from 50ws to 200ws
the packs have switches on them that say on off fast ( recycle time )
and 50/100/200(400 you don't have the booster)
the charger charges up the batteries ..
and since you have 2 packs the former owner
probably had 4 lights and ran them non plugged in ones
with a micro slave ( (when the first lights went off it triggered the others ) ...
you have some great lights ...
http://www.lumedyne.com/products.asp
look under core components
also look under flash heads and accessories.
i am not quite sure what you said the flash heads were
maybe you don't have any ?
there are a handful of different lights that work with your battery packs
i have a straight cord light and one with a modeling light ...
i also have what they call a handle unit which allows you to cut light way down
to 2ws instead of what the pack can do. if you use a second light it puts the rest of
the light to the 2nd head, so you can have a fill and main light or do other "stuff"
they sell factory reconditioned things direct from them or you can try your luck at
dealers ( like b/h et.C ) or try your luck on eBoink ...

if you are still unsure, give them a call
they are very helpful.

i have had mine since 1988
and have been using them shooting on location
(professionally) since about the same time.
they are portable, and dependable.

good luck!
john
