Does the chinese company Lucky still produce photographic film? I know a couple years ago, they stopped producing their color films, but lately their black and white offering has been hard to find. Have they stopped making it as well?

Their website has been less than helpful.

Some clarity is required there. Ultrafine old house brand was likely either Shangai GP3 or lucky, but it's not sold any longer. Ultrafine Xtreme appears to be coated by Harman technology.

Lucky Film cancelled their colour films, but still make RA-4 paper and b&w films and paper.
Lucky oncce was a major manufacturer producíng the complete photographic material a nation needed.

I find their website helpful.

Didn't Lucky have a joint venture or factory with Kodak at one time ?

China Lucky seems to have stopped all film production.
Colour films are confirmed as dead.
B&W film was only available as SHD 100.
Production status is unconfirmed.
I suggest you send an email to them.

IT was more of a curiosity question than anything serious. I'm using the last of my stash of Lucky Color 200 and am looking for a general purpose color film for snapshots and camera testing is all. I will admit to wanting to try the Lucky black and white film and seeing what it's like, but if it's been discontinued, I'm not going to. If I decide I really like it, it'll just be harder to not use it anymore.

Your rationale is understood. I do the same.
For a general purpose colour film, I'll suggest Agfaphoto Vista 200 or Fuji C200.
They are the same film.

I used the last of my stash of Lucky SHD100 and tried to find more online. I used to be able to get 10x 35mm rolls for around £20-£25 on Ebay, sent out from Hong Kong with free shipping. Now It's £11-£12 for 3x rolls, and there is a lot more expired stock turning up. I haven't been able to find any Shanghai 35mm stock at all.

still listed in the Lucky catalog. On other threads mention that Shanghai is relocating, don't know why the price has gone up.

I have sent an E-mail to Lucky to find out the current situation, and the possibilities of ordering directly from them, as well as about their panchromatic/aerial films. I've also asked them about their aerial (panchromatic) films. I'll post here with details on any reply I get.

What aerial films? Those have gone long ago. As most other films they once made.

I used to get through a couple of bricks of Lucky each year, mainly for testing point and shoots, but my last two batches had issues. One had distorted light traps, meaning fogging of the first 6 - 8 frames of each roll at least, and the current batch of 10 have scratches. Not linear scratches, but random angular lines and jags I first mistook for static fogging but subsequently proved to be on the film. A previous pack was totally pre-fogged.

I never had problems with Lucky film before, my guess is quality control has taken a dive prior to winding up the plant - but that's just my supposition.

I know that the SHD 100 in 120 I got what is now several years ago had total failure in the tape (actually a sticker) that attaches the film to the backing. to use the rolls I had to open each one in the darkrrom, unroll the start and tape the film down to the backing with masking tape...

Hi!
As far as I know, Lucky still produce B&W photographic film. I shot a roll of them about one mouth ago. Disappointed, I think the quality of Lucky film is awful. I developed it in D76 stock, you could see the poor contrast and graduation
