I'm going to be getting a 16x22 Summitek print washer which requires about 700ml, or 3 cups of water per minute. For water temperature control I had my heart set on an Intellifaucet D250 (low flow model) which is rated at the low end for .25 litres a minute per US gallon, or 950ml.
Does anybody know if the D250's ready light comes on at 700ml per minute? Is there enough water pressure for it to work? Can anybody recommend another low flow temperature control device? Thanks,
Murray, I use a D250 and find that it does a great job even if the water is just flowing at a trickle. I'm sure it will be fine with the 16x22 Summitek as I use it with an 11x14 Summitek washer and it works perfectly. I'm sure you'll like both the washer and the D250, they are terrific pieces of equipment, well designed, simple to use, and very effective.
My 'temperature control' unit right now is a dial thermometer duct taped into the inlet hose of my very thirsty Kostinger washer. Being a dad, I have prescious little time in the darkroom so I'm looking forward to the turn it on and walk away simplicity of the D250, and the Summitek not draining our water tank in the winter when the cold water supply is just above freezing.
Murray, I had a very similar temperature control for years, although I had a much more sophisticated design where the thermometer was held in an actual metal fitting on the faucet (no duct tape)- you'll like the Intellifaucet MUCH more!
There is or was a tank-less photo lab range water
heater available. IIRC it is a one or two liter/minute.
Temperature regulation is well within darkroom needs.
About $250. I've a new water heater to install so will
be checking it out. Dan
