Good morning all,

I don't know why I didn't think to post up on here earlier (...probably because I haven't had time to so much as log in and have a look around here in months!), but I'm on the hunt for some 35mm film canisters, just your plain old plastic cans, nothing special. My sons daycare has a list of things they're trying to collect for their art & craft corner to kick into the new year, I raided my stash and only came up with about two dozen (I wonder where the rest have gone, sure I wouldn't have thrown them out, I'm too tight!).

So if anyone, preferably in or around Melbourne/Geelong, has a bag full of empty plastic canisters tucked away that you have never had a use for, but your inner hoarder protested every time you tried to throw them out, I'd really appreciate your help! I travel up to and around Melbourne most days for work, so I should be able to pop in and collect them off you at some point.

Thanks guys! You'll be making some little tackers really happy!

Give a line to Steve Frizza. I know hese interstate to you. He runs a lab and likely networks with others who may have a stash.

I downsized to about 100 around last Christmas, but not before giving the tops of the containers I tossed to the recycling bin to the local cubs troop. They use them to make wheels for a science experiment night where ballons and empty water bottles and the 'wheels' mounted on nails or toothpicks for axles tunrns the whole contraption into a mini jet car.

I'm sure I have quite a few floating around. You're right, my inner hoarder will most definitely protest, but for such a good cause, she will be told to sit down and shut up

I'll go and have a dig around after I've had some sleep and will report back to you. I'll be in the city on the 26th of February (or so I've been told) and we can do the "Meet on the steps at Flinders Street Station" thing if I find enough to make it worth the trip for you and that suits you? I'm thinking I've probably only got between twenty and forty, just before you go and get your hopes up.

Okay, I've found 35 - one is missing the lid. The one thing which MIGHT be important that I should have mentioned is that they're LegacyPro cans which means they're made of translucent white material, rather than white. Are these of any use to you?

Thanks for the replies, sorry I haven't been able to get back to you all sooner!

Mike, I'm sure Frizza's swimming in them, if we get desperate enough to be paying postage etc, I might get in touch with him.

Reid, I have no idea mate, who know's WHAT kids get up to when you're not around?!

Molli, that sounds absolutely perfect, I would love to relieve you of your, err, 'collection'. Although I pass by the city regularly, getting into the actual CBD is usually pretty tricky (time wise), unless I make a special trip up and catch up with friends at the same time. I'll PM you and see if we can work something out.

Thanks Guys!

Hi Steve,
I missed your reply earlier. I found another 20 canisters (plus the missing lid). They're now packed up in a box and ready to post. Don't mention the postage - it's a surprisingly small box and 90% air so it's no trouble at all for me to send it on over to you. PM your address and they'll be in your hands within a couple of days
