I live in Bay Area California. Does anybody have a reputable hassleblad repair shop to recommend? Problem with my camera:
1. Timer malfunction at 1, 1/2, 1/4. The blade doesn't close and seems the timer is not moving.
2. Shutter is jammed from time to time. I have to remove the back plane to fire it.
In the Bay Area, contact Glass Key Photo on Haight Street in San Francisco. They don't repair Hasselblads themselves, but the owners shoot Hasselblad and they sell used ones, so they should be able to point you in the right direction.
Associated Camera in Portland's guy (Paul) is 30yr 'blad factory service w/ blad factory tooling. 'Has worked on mine w/ great results & has advised no service on lens that would have made him money. 'Very happy w/ his work.
Samy's Camera in Culver City recommends Steve. I use Dave at Samy's Camera on Fairfax. He is a Hasselblad trained repairman and I have him do all my Hasselblad work.
Samy's camera on Fairfax serviced my Leica M3. After which the shutter speed dial came loose in my hands. So I'm not going back to them!
But if Dave is the only guy there that will be touching the Hasselblad, then that should not be an issue. I can't remember the name of my tech, but it wasn't Dave.
