Maybe some of you saw this Dead Link Removed (still 24hrs to go)

I would like to ask if there is lens like this (with "bubble" bokeh) for C/Y mount?

I'm also happy to see the interesting examples of pictures using this kind of bokeh.

I know, Dan Fromm... Maybe one day catadioptric doughnuts won't be bad anymore. You should think of the doughnuts as a characteristic to take creative advantage of.

I see now that it's not productive to label bokeh as "good" "neutral" and "bad". Doesn't tell me anything about what to expect in the pictures.

I think it helps to have this descriptive name like "soap bubble"... because I used to call this "the bad bokeh". Now when I go out shooting with that lens I have that has this bokeh, instead of shrugging and saying "oh well, I guess I get the bad bokeh today"... I'll start to look for this kind of effect to take advantage of.

In fact, I'm going out this week with that camera, so it's good timing for this realization.

well 1000$ is a lot for lens which will be occasionally used.. due to this bokeh, this is not lens for everyday use.. that is why I am looking for some old alternative

I also found it only yesterday... but it is worth to check KS once per time.. there are some interesting projects ongoing (mostly photo books, or some poor people asking for money to buy new gear..)but look for example at that 4x5 film or Ferrania film (I backed that one)

Yes the optical design community is a small one...most optical engineers don't become ray benders. Meyer Optical has been recovering quite nicely since the end of the Cold War.
