Looking for fastest c41 film still produced.

The days of Fuji Press are long gone and I'm seeking a replacement. Right now the fastest I know of is Fuji Superia 800 or Fuji Supra "Xtra" 800 (both barely make it a stop). I'm definitely looking to push > 1600. If anyone has an experience (and examples) of fast color film > 2 stops please let me know.

I keep seeing Fuji Natura for sale.. I'm not sure whether it's still made or not.

Portra in 400 and 800. There are examples of P400 at 1600 to 3200 that were posted here when the film was new - some say they are "great" but personally I think the shadow detail is all missing and you need to be scanning to get the most out of such extreme pushes.

I think Natura 1600 is still made, twinlenslife.com has some great examples of Portra 400 at some remarkable speeds. Also, The Brothers Wright, who run twinlenslife.com, are starting to provide Kodak 500T with the remjet removed in 35mm, so you can process that plain old C41.

The word is Portra 400 is very similar to 500T, but I'd say 500T seems to do better in lower light.

Superia 1600, just got new stock in.

Portra 400 is better than 500T.
High speed examples are usually very crap because people use them in terrible lighting situations that have high contrast and well away from 5600K.

I would consistently run ports 400 at speeds that were stupid. I would run it up to 3200 without pushing. Any thing above I would push + 1 stop for every stop above 3200. At 1600 it looks great.

Don't know about there, don't see it on B&H, so 'local' sources might be imported by the retailer rather than distributor.

We just got some in from Fuji Australia.

Kodak is still rolling up Portra 800. It is an outstanding film!

I don't see any indication that there is any c41 film > 800 ISO that is still being manufactured anywhere. As I said in my initial post, Fuji Press 1600 was the last 1600 speed C41 film being made, and that was discontinued years ago.

Porta is very expensive film. I think I'm going to buy a lot of Supra Xtra 800 and see if I can get it a stop or more. That stuff sells for ~$3-4 a roll.

-) Fuji Natura 1600 resp. Superia 1600 is still listed by Fuji.
Of course being listed does not mean that it is still manufactured. But this applies to ALL films on the market.

-) The rebranded Agfa film is much cheaper than the Kodak film.

Pricey, but I really like this film a lot.

Thanks for that, I'll try a roll or two and compare to Portra 800. I don't expect it to be quite as good but if it's close at an extra stop of speed it could be handy. I don't shoot enough of it to be too concerned about the price.

Portra 800 is very good, and I can get it in 120 which is even better.

If it's listed on Fuji's website as a product, it's very likely still being manufactured. I went to Fuji's .au site to look for indications that they were still selling 1600 speed film there, to no avail (in fact Fuji doesn't list *any* 35mm film on their .au website at all). However, I did email their PR department so we'll see what comes of it...

Konica used to sell a 3200 ISO colour negative film but that, of course, is long gone. I think that was the fastest anyone ever offered.

Superia 1600 35mm still available in Germany without any problems so far, many distributors, but quite pricy, about 6 - 10 EUR, f.e.:

Superia Xtra 800 is beautiful film and I like it much better than Pro 400H. Optical enlargements from 35mm to 5x7" are grain free with Portra 400 but borderline with Superia Xtra 800, so use it when you need the speed.
