Hello,

searching for 'large format color', etc... in google isn't yielding relevant results -

4x5, 8x10 - and ULF/larger format portraiture especially

any links you may have to share would be great

interesting (thanks)

hmmm - any details or guesses on film, lens and lenses used ?

Are they printed at 11x14 - or enlarged ? either would a pretty neat experience to view in person...

Personally I am interested to use the low DOF characteristics possible at those magnifications - of note is that with the massive reduction of both size and resolution in the web interface at that site - a pity !

Exhibition shots I've seen usually show them contact printed at 11x14". He has an old studio camera, Kodak or Century I think, and I think he's used mostly one not terribly unusual lens, and I suspect the film isn't anything surprising either, since there aren't so many options in color. His lighting is simple--like an umbrella or large parabolic umbrella for the main and one for fill and a background light or two, but he has lots of power. As I see it, his style puts the main emphasis on interaction with the subject, and the big studio camera is part of that interaction.

What, my web site isn't good enough? Grin.

This environmental portrait was made on 8x10: Dead Link Removed

All these images were made on 8x10: Dead Link Removed

All but one of these images were made on 8x10 or 4x5 (hint the square image was made on 120): Dead Link Removed

Five other portraits were made on 4x5: Dead Link Removed

Personally I don't think it is necessary to advertise the formats I use on my web site. Enjoy.

Here are a couple of mine, both 8x10" both with a 12"/6.8 gold dot Dagor as it happens, and both on Astia--
