I am looking for a tripod head for vertical shots. Do you have any recommendations? My head can't support my camera with heavy lens attached to it while the camera is in the vertical position.

Please help!!!

I use an L plate on my cameras which allow that to happen. Check out really right stuff as they are them

They are camera specific but not cheap. Think the $180 range

Yes they are camera specific and fit into arcswiss type heads. But they'd a great job and make life easier (at least in my experience)

You can find generic L Plates on ebay that can work with many cameras, though they are not as nice as the ones custom made for a model. You can also get parts from Really Right Stuff to make a large custom L Plate from two rails and an angle piece. I used this for a while with a Mamiya 645 as an L Plate / handle grip.

A L bracket/plate may or may not help with a heavy lens, this depends on the specific lens.
Ideally, the camera+lens should be supported under the center of gravity or close to it.
Unfortunately some of these lenses do not have a tripod mount, so you are back to supporting on the camera.

Like others, I converted to the Arca Swiss mounting system, and I like it.

The hassle is, especially for a business, you have to convert ALL the tripod heads, ALL your cameras, ALL your lenses with tripod sockets, and all your flash brackets. You need to convert everything, so it becomes a standard. Because you do not want to be in a situation where you have a AS clamp on the tripod and no AS bracket/plate on the camera or lens. The more gear you have the greater the number of items that needs an AS clamp, bracket, or plate.
