About a year ago I bought a 6.5 x 8.5 Eastman Kodak View camera and it came with a 4x5 reducing back. I a trying to find a replacement back that is the full 6.5 x 8.5 but I am having an nearly impossible time finding anything. Can anyone possibly suggest anywhere to look?

With apologies if this is obvious: while you are searching for a back, you might also keep an eye out for entire cameras that look decrepit but from which the back might be salvageable.

Many moons ago when I first caught the whole plate "bug", I assembled my first usable 6.5 x 8.5 camera - an Eastman No. 2 which I still have - with a body from one camera and a back from another.

There's a 6.5 x 8.5 camera in an antique shop nearby, might want to try that. I've seen some odd stuff in antique shops
