Ralph,

That is far beyond my knowledge of electronics but you should try searching the Edmunds Scientific catalog.

I like to drop an object and fire a flash when it breaks a light beam.internet searches and a trip to Radio Shack weren ot very successful yret. any ideas or leads?:wondering:

I got it.I'm making a mechanical connection betwen two wires connected to the two poes of the sync cable.the object itself will make the connection between the two cables triggering the flash; just got to make sure the cables aren't showing in the picture.

What kind of object Ralph? Also I think you want the object to pass the sensor before firing the flash right? otherwise you might take a picture of the light beam if you use photoelectric sensor. Actually I think I have enough stuff in my garage to build one.
