Longevity of Polaroid Materials?

Hi All,

In posting my other thread about prints from slides using Polaroid style slide printers I got to wondering about the life span of those prints. What kind of life can I expect with proper storage?

I have Polaroid color snap-shots from the 1960's that are still OK. They weren't great art when they were shot, but they haven't faded. Many of the black and white Polaroid shots I took from the same era have faded, even though coated. Perhaps I didn't coat them enough?
