Longevity of Diafine, Ethol, Glycin and Triethanolamine

Hello Everyone,

Need some advice regarding Diafine, Ethol UFG , glycin and triethanolamine. How long do they stay fresh if unopened, and opened?

The relative humidity in Dhaka will soon reach around 95+% once the rainy season starts. The temperature can go as high as 38°C (in May-July). So when it gets hot, I keep my AirCon on at around 21°C. Is there anything special I need to do for these and in general, for other darkroom chemicals?

I've always understood that glycin keeps best in the freezer, so that's where I've kept mine (though I'm out now, time to order more). Ethol in a brand name of a variety of different developers, so I'm not sure which one you're talking about. The Diafine I have is in cans, and developer in cans can stay good for decades (per my experience with some old Microdol-X) but you'll want to keep the cans in a cool place if possible and ensure they do not rust. Triethanolamine - I have no experience with.

In general, I think cooler is better for most developer components.

The triethanolamine will keep just about forever if protected from the carbon dioxide in air.

To remove the CO2, (& air in general, ) can I use butane gas?

Just keep the liquid well stoppered and everything should be fine.
