Quick note to say the London Alternative Photography Collective and Doomed Gallery in Dalston are hosting the London Pinhole Festival this weekend.
Opening exhibition party on Friday 24th. All welcome. Pinhole portraits on Saturday and matchbox pinhole workshop on Sunday. (Though workshop is now sold out.) Exhibition open all weekend.

The Doomed Gallery is quite small but, despite this, there was a good selection of differing approaches to pinhole photography. Although I had to leave fairly early, the preview was already packed - great to see so many people interested in photography making it along on such a busy Friday.
For my tastes, the stand-out images were Mike's fibre-based prints of London's National Theatre.

Sorry to have missed you, didn't get there till 19.30ish. Just back from shooting about 60 pinhole portraits in Ridley Road market with Andy Atkinson and then a long session for us processing and digitising. If all goes well tomorrow putting it together, will be presenting a slide show of our efforts around 17.00 at Doomed.
I was a very nice exhibition and it was nice to meet you Mike.
As it turned out we have a coincidence on this day.
Congratulations on the slide show.
Many times when looking on Flickr for pinhole pics, I have an idea that most are unsharp.
Those portraits on the slide show were anything other than sharp.
Excellent!

live a few thousand miles away ( usa ) and i couldn't be there
