I had a fantastic day gadding about London yesterday in order to see three exhibitions which I feel would be of interest to APUG members. Admission to all is free, assuming that you do not buy. I have started saving ..........!

For lovers of colour landscape there is Joe Cornish's Light
Force at Hoopers Gallery (Farringdon tube nearest)
http://www.hoopersgallery.co.uk/exhibition.htm. There are 38 images made on his 5x4 camera and mostly Velvia 50, from a variety of worldwide locations. There are a few with image size (not frame) at 30x38 in, most are 20x24 and a couple of 10x12. His composition and use of colour is exemplary and can be fully appreciated at this large size.
He will be giving a talk there on 28 June - 6:30 for 7pm.

Joe's pictures are also included in "The Coast Exposed" exhibition at The Queen's House, National Maritime Museum at Greenwich, which it has to be said, is not the easiest place to get to!
http://www.nmm.ac.uk/server/show/conEvent.1133 and also http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/thingstodo/events_coastexposed.html. Here along with Paul Wakefield, David Noton and Nick Meers, they show Britain's coast in detail and wider view. The first room has 5x4 transparency images by Paul Wakefield and Joe Cornish presented enlarged and backlit on 16x20 lightboxes, which worked very well for me. After the colour in the first 2 rooms, B+W work from Ian Berry, Stuart Franklin, David Hurn and Chris Steele - Perkins shows the way that people are involved with the Coast, either for leisure, or those who work on conservation or wildlife protection.

Then sticking with the B+W medium there are 40 prints by Michael Kenna at Hackelbury (Gloucester Rd or High St Kensington tube nearest)
http://www.hackelbury.co.uk/artists/kenna/kenna.html
Upon seeing these prints, there is little doubt why his images are held in such high regard, with prices that reflect this adulation! Although image size is only less than 8x8 inches, they are exquisite and don't need to be any bigger. They are beautifully presented, I especially liked the use of the thinner than usual mountboard.

Your roving reporter is now safely back by the sea in the New Forest and contemplating how on earth to raise his game, after a day of inspiration, and it has to be said on a hot June day - persperation!
