I want to get the effect of the redscale film, but prefer slides. Can the same effect be achieved with a CC10R filter and E6 film?

Never tried it, so I guess it would be a case of experimenting. The Lomo film seems to produce a variety of reds, oranges, yellows and browns (doubtless through the effect of the colour of the backing and integral mask); and, as a negative film, the colours could also be adjusted at the printing stage, so the effect seems to be something more than a simple shift to the red part of the spectrum.

However, I did experiment some years ago with the use of CC filters for minor corrections on E6 (and Kodachrome), inspired by a demonstration by a pro photographer at our local Photo Club.

IIRC, the CC10R (and the weaker CC05R) seemed very subtle, nothing like the Lomo colours.....identical slides with and without CC05 correction looked different side-by-side, but, after projection for a moment, the eye would adapt so that either looked acceptable!

you can "redscale" any film, including E6, but you have to go the DIY route
