I have a Lomo LC Wide which is about 5 years old. I know that the Lomo shutters may fail to open because the blades become sticky. There are repair guides, but these repairs are beyond my skills. I have not yet heard of a repair firm, Lomography will not help beyond the warranty period. It is an electronic shutter.
The shutter of my Wide opens in low light. No problem, the speeds seem to be consistent with the amount of light, the shutter can stay open for several seconds. But if there is more light, the shutter does not open at all. About 1/5th of a second works, shorter times are not possible. It does not open at all and also refuses to work in the darker shade for 2 or 3 times before opening again for longer times. I tried different ISO settings of course.
This seems crazy. I have had hundreds of cameras in my life and maybe 100 failing shutters. But never ever this strange behavior. Any Ideas?
