I've owned one of the glass-lensed Lomogaphy instant cameras and indeed found it much sharper and crisper-looking, albeit wider-angle, than say, Fujifilm's Instax Mini 90. Consistent with incorporating a doublet rather than a simple meniscus element, perhaps. The difference is plainly visible, but some may prefer the more impressionistic (and forgiving!) originals.
Having a better lens is of course very good.
But what about the build quality of the camera: It looks like being identical to the current existing model with the softer lens.
And I've read several reports from users who complained about the build quality and broken cameras just after 2-3 years of use.
There is a lot that could be improved on my Fujifilm instax wide camera. But that is working perfectly and absolutally reliable for more than a decade.
