lomo explosion in the city

I have noticed a large explosion in lomo photography in the city of late.
If anyone is looking for developing and printing of 120 film c41,e6 or bw

all films 35mm to 120mm are done onsite, scanning, printing , proofsheets and

Picked up three 120 rolls from there today.
Been using them for years now and thoroughly recommend their services!

It's not a prolab, so don't expect consistency across long periods.
Then again if you need that sort of consistency and know why, you probably know already how/where to get it.

For the common mortal who doesn't bother with the odd 1/3stop over/under development over a period of months, they do a superb job at a good price.

I've dropped film there in the morning and collected in the arvo, that fast. Although quite frankly the vast majority of cases I just collect it next day: plenty fast enough for me!

In the interest of disclosure: I don't have any financial interest in their work. Simply a happy customer!

There was no discount involved, but the manager told me that he was aware of APUG, but didn't check the forum.

Re Lomo explosion: that's what I would like to see, blow 'em all up. particularly those overpriced ones for sale at the Museum of Contemporary Art at Circular Quay. Price junk cameras at junk prices, please. Better to buy a Brownie for a dollar or two from Vinnie's. The pictures will be better or similar.

a lot of people dis' the lomo/holga fad, and I used to be one of these people... Just consider - it's keeping 120 format alive! Anything that encourages the use of medium format film, I'll support!

The Brownie uses 120 film of course, as do various folders that are found at most camera fairs, many of which deliver good results. I do agree that if the Holga/Lomo bunch encourage sales of medium format film it might extend availability so that I can continue to fuel my RB 67 and a couple of Fujis. (not at Oz prices, though)

Yeah, it seems Oz photo dealers are hell bent on destroying film sales with blatant rip-off over-pricing...

Thank God for ebay! 35mm slide film at 30 bucks a roll? Man, I buy mine at 8 bucks a roll, and both pbarcelon and cheap_shots_au still seem to make a profit there.

I used to get my film from pbarcelon and cheap_shots....

Now I only deal with joshuacohen...his prices on film and cameras are fantastic and after many transactions I can say he is very reliable.

Prices in Australia are an insult.

I wouldn't be too hard on suppliers like V*b*r. I've been surprised by their loyalty to traditional technology for the past few years. I know nothing about how to conduct a commercial business but I'm inclined to believe that servicing the few hundred customers still using chemical/silver techniques must oblige them to buy at less than favourable prices.

If I could I'd buy shares in US Postal Services.

V*nb*r is not the problem, their prices are more or less reasonable for bulk purchases.

But others in Sydney have the nerve to ask $35 for a single Astia 36 frame roll, no quantity discount.
When the same can be had easily for around $10 online.

Sorry, but no amount of "market conditions" and "difficulty in supply" can explain that: the others have the same problem!

If they can supply at that price, there has to be an excessive mark-up when selling at over 3 times that! And I don't buy the "end of film" nonsense!

these guys are a small family business and look after there customers old or new.
Hey! they have some expired 120 colour c41 agfa 100 optima for $5 each
difinitely a goer for 120 shooters.
