Localsend: great tool for wireless, encrypted file transfers between phone and computer

May be old news to others, but this open source app has proven to be delightful to me.

It's simple and LocalSend is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS.

Oh and it is free; another plus.

Highly recommend...

WiFi -- you do have to be on the same network segment.
