On this weekend if anybody cares to call in. I'll be there Saturday signing autographs..
Actually opening is Thursday night (8.00pm) by English Master Photographer Tim Rudman. Your welcome to that too if you like, might even be a free drink involved.
I'd love to drop by on Thursday Shane, but will be frantically running around getting last minute bits and bobs ready to fly OS for work at 0545 the next morning. I hope that it all goes well for all exhibiting their prints.
I was thinking this morning I could pop up today if I get this job finished and ready to take up to Melbourne. I was just getting my stuff packed and checked the times and realised... It's only open Sat/Sun, dang, I guess I'll head up tomorrow after all.
Thanks Mark, yes there is a good range of prints on show. We ended up having about 40 people come though during the day and I had some interesting chats with people about traditional photography.
Thanks to those who popped in to have a look.
Open again tomorrow from 10am - 5pm.
I loved your work (I've said this before, including colour work), among the best I've seen from APUG members whose work you don't very often see at all. The prints have a pleasing balance of enumerated character, a thoughtful capacity for visual arrangement, a fine grasp of technical printing and above all, polite understatement. Everything is in balance and proportion. The compositions are simple easy going. The prints tell a story and evoke a process of thought and wonder. Might I say that the work you have produced gives a gentle poke in the ribs to well known industry heavy-hitters still producing soft, tired and tedious work in B&W. Now, which one shall I buy?
I just went and had a squiz and fully agree with Gary's comments about your prints, Shane. Not only are they great compositionally, but there is a massive amount of printing skill in their creation. My favourite is Tenby Point. It has wonderful tonal range. King Billy also shows great printing skill and creative composition. Well worth a visit for anyone considering. Only a few hours left.
