I found a good deal on an F5, so I jumped on it. I expected it would load like any other 35mm camera, but there was a tab at the top right (looking from behind) blocking the insertion of the cassette. The only way I could find to get the film in was to slide it in at an angle from below that tab.

Loading that way felt awkward to me, so I wanted to come on here and make sure that is the correct way.

Thanks!

Normal, does seem weird at first but you get used to it. Same as my F5.

I never used either the F5 or F6, so no actual first hand experience but watching the videos, capturing the cassette seems to a way of ensuring consistent loading. By keeping the cassette secure, the automatic loading can advance the leader without the chance of pulling the cassette out of position and having the film jam.

Yeah, that's normal. Precision film positioning, when you can print your name in between frames at 8 per second etc etc. It took me a while to get used to it. Even after forever it still catches me now and then.
