Well in this case it's a great camera that works well, and has resale value, but I just don't use it enough. I know I'll miss it, but the money would be helpful toward other gear that I need. It's a matter of waiting longer I guess, if I keep it, but it also spawns the question, do I need it? If one day I found that the camera no longer worked, I wouldn't want to pay for repair.
My new old Kodak Vigilant with the Special lens 620 folder has a bellows like a screen door. Every time I close it it gets more holes. Acrylic paint did help but does not work. It is going to get a new bellows next time I go downtown. So will the 12x15 Vageeswari. Then I'll start to think about selling the other stuff. I had to collect a lot just to find out what I like. I love the Pentax 6x7 kit, that stays. A 6x9 folder will be in my pocket all the time. I need more film.
I have GAS and it gets bad sometimes. But I'm learning not to sell stuff because most of the time I don't get even close to what I paid for it. And much of what you collect goes to shipping, Paypal and Ebay fees. I have some gear that I hang on to because I'd get virtually nothing for it(like my Nikon N5005 and Vivitar 135 3.5 M42). A few months ago I sold a Nikon N6006 with 35-70 3.3-4.5 lens on Ebay and netted about $17. That camera and lens could have made a great loaner or gift for a friend or relative in the future. And another reason not to sell something is because later I may wish I still had it.
A few years ago I went out and bought all the cameras that I wanted and many lenses. I also bought and enlarger and large drum print dryer. Shortly after than all the GAS disappeared.
Wow. Until now I've not realized the sheer magnitude of the fall in film camera prices. Although I should've gotten the hint when someone occasionally asks me "do they still make film for that?".
Maybe even this year someone will say "hey, Joe, you want Hassy? I sell you 205FCC - fi' dolla - last you long time."
