No more than 10, but I suspect most of us will have trouble thinking of 10! Some photographers I admire are alive but sadly their working days are largely behind them, so I won’t include them here.

Wow, this is a fantastic thread. Thanks for getting this started. I'm loving Peter Mitchell. I'm fond of storefronts, as well and he's got some fantastic shots.

This thread is a depressing reminder of all good photographers hiding their work behind awful / unusable websites. Tiny images, terrible navigation, horizontal scrolling, shit's not loading at all... On the other hand, all wedding photographers have fantastic websites. I wonder if that's done on purpose?

I tried googling "[Name] photography" for a few fresh names here and quickly gave up.

A professional photographer that has had National Geographic covers, told me that over several decades he has yet to sell a photograph, however at the Beverly Hills Art fair and other such fairs and festivals and aboard cruise ships he earns a comfortable income selling photographs.

This is such a great list! I recently purchased three books by Danny Lyon but haven't had time yet to really dive into them.

I'm also a big Eugene Richards fan. I contributed to the Kickstarter campaign for his latest book, which should be out this fall.

Thanks for making me discover Jungjin Lee. Absolutely stunning work!

I picked up 'Message to the Future' a while ago and have been enjoying it. The publisher (Twin Palms) was selling signed copies for only $10 more than the unsigned edition. I see that the signed copies are now sold out, but the regular edition is still available.

Bruce Barnbaum - his work and writings have both been very inspirational to me and fairly instructive as well
Theo Bosboom - same as above
Allister Benn - same as above
Steve O'Nions - Some of his work is really phenomenal, and I enjoy his YouTube channel for avoiding the pretentiousness of a lot of others
Mat Marrash - While I do resonate with a few of his photographs, I mostly appreciate the hard work he's putting in to bring people into the world of large format
