Good day everybody and very best wishes for Christmas and the New Year.

It's been a while since I have been to APUG but I thought that some of you might be interested in getting my new Lith Printing materials update.

It's quite free and can be downloaded by all my mailing list subscribers at www.timrudman.com

(You can of course unsubscribe at any time. My December newsletter will be going out tomorrow and contains an unsubscribe link)

best wishes
Tim

Hmm, where can I download it? It seems like your website isn't updated yet.
(Yes, I have bought both books and I'm a subscriber to the mailing list.)

Much regards
Björn

Sorry Bjorn
I should have made this clearer. I've got this wretched 'flu at the moment and only seem to be functioning on one brain cell!

If you subscribe you will now automatically get the download icon.

If you are already subscribed you should get the the newsletter tomorrow and it will carry a link to the download.

We have had some minor software teething problems upgrading both our mailing lists and newsletter software. If for some reason it doesn't work I need to know so just email me through the timrudman.com website and I will send it to you. Let me know if you don't get the newsletter by Monday night.

Subscribers to the World of Lith Printing website will need to reconfirm as the 2 lists are being merged as they both do the same thing. Instructions are in the newsletter.
Hope this is clear?
Tim

How do I get to the download, and how often are the newsletters?

Edit: Just read the above post.

Tom.

OK Tom, the software shows that you subscribed and confirmed.
You should get a newsletter sometime tomorrow with the download.
Newsletters are not too frequent. They have depended on when news is available, which occasionally is frequent but mostly is infrequent. I plan to make them a bit more regular - maybe every 2 or 3 months initially. But you won't get bothered by irritatingly frequent emails I hope!
Tim
P.S. If you don'y get it by tomorrow night please let me know through my website.
Tim

Thanks for clearing that up; I didn't to miss any of your advice. I've recently started making lith prints on the back of your 'master photographer's guide to lith printing' book.

Tim -

Since I hadn't gotten a newsletter in a very long time I decided to go to your website and re-up. Well it just barfed on me with a page that says
"The change you wanted was rejected. Maybe you tried to change something you didn't have access to.".

This was at 5:25pm CST (GMT+6) on 21-Dec-08.

Hope you get over your flu soon and feel better.

Oh Thanks. I will get on to this in the morning. If there is a problem I may have to hold the newsletter

Why not just post the update on a regular html page instead of having to subscribe?

Why not just post the update on a regular html page instead of having to subscribe?

Because it is a free service for my subscribers. I don't make any money out of it, it's quite a lot of work, but I think many of them do appreciate it, or at least I hope they do.
I also spend a quite a lot of time writing and revising handouts and teaching aids that I give to everyone who comes on my workshops. I don't put them all up on the internet for everyone to read, copy, plagiarise, distribute or whatever. This Update was actually written for this year's late workshops but I think it probably has a wider interest. It's free - but it's also optional

OK, here is an answer from my software guy:
" Did they just try and sign up again? There is validation that won’t allow them to register the same email more than once, but it should just give a message on the form saying that the email has already been subscribed. I have no idea what this error means or what causes it. What ‘change’ are they trying to do?
Can you find out more details?"

If you would like to send me a message through my website with your name and approximate time of subscribing I will see if I can find you and let you know your status.
I didn't really want to take up APUGs time/space with these issues , only to say that this was available. But if I can help sort out any probs I will do my best to do so.
Thanks
Tim

OK, just a quickie as this isn't really APUG business:
The newsletter has gone out. But over 60 undeliverable emails returned. Although a small %age, and some are probably spoof - which is what the new 2-step system is designed to avoid in future - I do recognise some APUGers in there so some of you must have used an email that has since changed.
So if you don't get it today, and you do want to, you will have to re-register.
Enough from me I think
Thanks guys
Tim

I certainly appreciate your updates Tim, I cant personally test all new materials, etc. as I only do Lith Prints now and again. Thanks very much

Thank you!
Your newsletter made me start thinking about some lith printing again. After several months out of the darkroom (I am afraid the spiders have been nesting undisturbed in there for too long...) I am now planning to go back in during the hollydays.

The mail made it all clear. (I assume was only subscribed to the WOLP list.)

Cheers

Tim,
Thanks for the update. It is amazing how much things change. I'm looking forward to seeing the workshop schedule next year!
