List of European sellers of Colour chemistry

Which European sources do you know which sell chemicals for colour development?

I know:

Westernphoto: Dead Link Removed in Italy
Macodirect: http://www.macodirect.de in Germany
Morco Photographic Products: http://www.morco.uk.com in the UK (they also have single components)
AG Photographic: http://www.ag-photographic.co.uk in the UK
The Imaging Warehouse: http://www.theimagingwarehouse.com in the UK
FirstCall: http://www.firstcall-photographic.co.uk in the UK (they also have the E-6 6 baths Fuji kit).

In Italy the producer Chimifoto Ornano Dead Link Removed should still sell some of their chemistry directly to clients with a minimum order of €60,00 but as far as I know they have discontinued the E-6 6-baths kit.

If you (or anybody else) can add to the list, I'd be grateful.

They mostly only have the Tetenal kits for colour developing, so for E-6 they normally only have the 3-baths kit.

Fast translations for non-German buyers:
(please point out any mistake)

Erstentwickler = First developer
Umkehrbad = Inversion (bath)
Farbentwickler = Colour developer
Bleichvorbad = Pre-bleach (bath)
Bleichbad = Bleach (bath)
Fixier = Fixer

Nachfülllösung = Replenisher

It hasn't. The other thread - which I read before posting this one, and to which I had contributed at the time - is more a list of what colour products are needed, but does not give a list of sellers specifically in Europe.

This thread allows the compilation of a very useful sellers list which can be used as a reference for decades to come

Besides, neither the other thread nor this one give a definite answer regarding whether the "starter" is needed.
I don't find clear answers on APUG.
Some people say that the "starter" only has the purpose of making the "replenisher" less potent during the first runs. That would mean that the "replenisher" alone could be used, maybe after having tweaked the development times.

But you can also find different suggestions. PE - talking IIRC about C-41, not E-6 specifically - says it is adviceable to use a developer which doesn't require a starter.

A Kodak document says that for rotative processing the Kodak "kit" should be used (107 7643) and not the starter-replenisher one.

I cannot find the product code of the first developer of the Kodak kit. Could be 156 4632 but Kodak documentation is ambiguous on the point. It says the kit 107 7643 "replaces" the various products with various codes, among which the first developer is 156 4632, but it is not clear if it replaces them because there has been a change in formalin content, because there has been a change in packaging, or a change in formulation.

So far the only seller I was pointed at who would sell E-6 components is Morco Photographic Products, but they don't ship E-6 products overseas.

I think I'll have to buy an entire new kit

In general when you compare the formual fro a replenisher with a developer, the replensihser has a different makeup. Normaly in Black and white we just mix the developer and add replenisher as needed. Many folks don't bother with replensiher.

In colour labs, the norm is to alwmst always use replenished systems so rathe rthan sell developer they sell replensiher and a "starter" which containes the "difference" to mix a developer. If you just want the developer you would always mix a combination of replenisher and starter.

The Small kits assumed non replensihed use and so contain a developer rather than a replenisher-starter combination.

That definitely makes me understand that the easier route is to buy a new kit.
"Plain" developer is not to be found anywhere outside kits.
In the few places where I found E-6 developer not in kit, it always was of the starter-replenisher kind, and if I understand correctly in order to use it "one-shot" with the Jobo I should buy both, and that gives a too large and too expensive amount of first developer to buy. First Developer is the most perishable should be the one to be bought in smaller quantities.

The supply situation in Germany for film, photo chemistry, lab services, film based cameras and repair is excellent.
Lot's of very professionally working distributors, lot's of competition the consumer is benefiting from.
The film market in Germany in general is much stronger compared to lot's of other countries.

When I recently explained that (plus the super bargains at german drug-store chains) at the photo-department of a renown European art-academy, I got the reply "Our students can't be put up with bying in Germany!" and rather be without film than buying over here...
