anyone know the life expectancy of Liquid Light once its been opened and transferred to other containers? I found some that's at least 4 years old...(yeah I know I can can try it to find out if its good, just curious)

There is no good answer to such a question. Emulsions don't die overnight, its more gradual and depends on what you can accept and deal with... and... what other containers? And which liquid light? How was it stored? Too many variables to answer well, but a typical safe shelf life can be 6mos to 2years... and then some... its just like with other photographic material. Good luck.

hi wayne

you might want to check out the rockland colloid website
it has information about how to test your emulsion

http://www.rockaloid.com/faq.html#8

if you call the phone number on their website
they can answer all your questions about the emulsion.
they've been making it for a long long time ...

i have used liquid light that was 10 years old.
it sometimes gets contrast when it ages.

good luck
john

Cool.. I hope it has some more contrast, if it works. I'll check out the faq. Too bad I opened one film can of it after shaking it and feeling a big lump, not remembering it is a solid at room temperature. Duhh. Wonder if I can salvage part of it by "peeling" the plug?
