Came across someone selling a Linhof Wide 6x8 camera, looking like this:

AfyrBvn.jpg

Haven't been able to find any info on what it is, is anyone familiar with it?

I know nothing about it,but it looks very handsome.

It also does have the look of something that might have been made as a "marriage of parts"

Seems a bit like a Brooks Veriwide, but looking closely, I tend to agree on pdeehs assessment - a marriage. Some parts of it reminds me of a 6x9 Zeiss Ikonta.

The listing you're looking at says 6x9.

Looks like something home-brew to me, too. Afraid I don't recognize the style of the helical mount.

I do have the same helical mount and the 47mm f8 super angulon for my Linhof Super Technika 6x9. I think it was adapted to another camera body here.

No, it says 6x9 in the ad.

But yes, it is a homegrown camera, looks pretty nifty. And the opening price of €50 (highest bidder takes it, though) is well worth it, I think ...

I just looked. The URL contains "6x8." The listing text is headed "Linhof wide 6x9 format," 6x9 occurs a few times in the text, and 6x8 doesn't occur in the text. Let's give up on the idea that it is a 6x8 camera.

Oren, it is quite slickly made but you're right, it has an artisanal feel to it. Technika lens, Technika finder, reworked 6x9 folder body? I can't imagine Linhof using the level that's on it. 1960 +/- 65/8 SA.

The threeway level is a Linhof one. I used to have one that was glued onto my Speed Graphic (gah - I miss that one so bad sometimes!).

Thanks for the answers everyone, makes more sense for it to be a 6x9 tbh (6x8 is so uncommon), but I swear that the ad said 6x8 when I looked at it first, the seller seems to have updated it with more pictures as well.
