Linhof showed a Technika Special in their brochure from 1963. This is basically stripped down Technika 70 or Super Technika in 2x3/6x9 size only. No rangefinder, no possibility to mount one either. Simple left hand grip. Otherwise it is same bed / box as the other Technikas 6x9.

I appears very few were made, or nobody wants to let it go. So far searches for technika Special produced zero results. Then below popped up:

Linhof Technika Studio .

Was this specifically for US market? Box clearly states Studienkamera 70 suggesting it came from German market and clearly even in Germany not being called Special.

At least now I can look for this model instead. I like its simplicity also resulting in smallest form factor of all Technikas. But any input on its apparent history would be welcomed.

@macfred Thanks for the links. I don't see Expert mentioned anywhere except in Butkus' link and all I know is that Linhof called Special in their English version brochure, and now I see the Studien in any other source I can find. So I am not sure where that "expert" is coming from.

Special/Studio is the same in critical basics as Super Technika, sans rangefinder, so the manual you linked shows both as operationally they are the same except for the rangefinder part.
