What, if any, lens cap will fit the Linhof Technika, 135mm Planar combination when the camera is closed? It's such a tight fit that snap-in cap won't work.
Do you have the earlier version of the Planar with the special shutter and recessed lensboard? I had heard mixed reports about whether it really closes with the camera, so it's good to see some confirmation. I'd be surprised, considering how they had to stuff the lens in there if you could get a lenscap in. Maybe a thin screw-in metal cap could work. I've got the later version on a flat board, so it doesn't close with the camera at all.
Don't goad us with your "problems" about having a 135 Planar and Technika! It's like complaining about the gas milage of your Masserati. Most of us are jealous...!
Seriously, will the front element be damaged if you avoid the lenscap? I think the closed camera would keep the dust out pretty well...
I had no problems with mine - but that was on a 5x7" Technika...
The one lens I had which was difficult to fold inside that one (difficult, not impossible) was the 300mm/f:4.5 Xenar. It worked fine by removing the top rail before closing.
I think the Planar will be a very tight fit, and the only hope would be a screw-in lenscap.
