Linhof Master Technika 2000 and use with 47mm XL Schneider Lens

I am seeking information as to the use of the 47mm XL lens and if the flap on the MT 2000 allows any additional useful rise when used with a recessed lens board. Has anyone out there used this combination? Will the flap allow 10 to 15mm extra rise? I know that in the box on the internal focus track with flat board will only achieve about 5mm rise. It seems that a 12mm recessed board should just clear the box with the flap open for a few extra mm rise. Am I wrong or is this possible? It seems to be very difficult to get an answer to this question.

According to Schneider, even if the camera will give you the extra rise on the front standard, you only have enough image circle for 8-9mm rise or shift on 4x5", presuming no other movements are used.

I'm not sure if you have enough leeway for indirect rise, but it's worth a try. Tilt the front standard forward; tilt the rear standard so it's parallel to the front standard, and tilt the camera up on the tripod mount so the two standards are plumb with respect to the ground, and if there are no physical obstacles and if infinity focus is still possible, you can get a few mm extra rise that way.

Thank you Mr. Goldfarb. I was aware of the movement restrictions of this lens. My intent was not only using this lens for 4x5, but also 6x9. In this case I may be barking up the wrong tree. I was hoping that I could get a response from someone who has actually used this combination, but I,m finding it very difficult. I know there are Technika owners out there and some must have tried this. Thanks again.
