Linhof 5x7 - which version ?

I believe the one I had was a III, with a IV back: Dead Link Removed

Yes, I'm sure that was a III. The one big difference during the evolution of the III, was the replacement of the bail back for loading film holders (as shown in Dead Link Removed), with a spring back. I remember talking about this with Paula at Linhof & Studio in the UK.

But the bail back is great - it adds a little weight, but it makes loading film holders without moving the whole thing, tripod included, a lot easier!

I agree. I sometimes look at Richard Ritters site, and wonder whether it would be worth seeing if he could convert it. Or find a poor, dead III on the auction site, and use the back off that!

Arrgghhh..... I was scammed.

Ebay Spoof..... all of a sudden, the seller moved from Graz in Austria to Great Britain...

So no 5x7 Linhof for me this time

Nope - no money was wired. But I really got in a state of angriness yesterday - all day. Could not believe that i was being scammed.... so angry ;-)

Now the sun is shining, and its a day for photography
