I'm trying to linearize the ink description file for digital negatives with Quadtone Rip. First I print out the negative of step-21X4-random stepwedge. Then I made a palladium print, measured the patches by the Eye-one,dragged the file onto QTR-Linearize-Data and got the info as below:

LINEARIZE="92.575 92.22 91.52 90.2525 88.8375 86.44 83.7275 79.875 76.5225 72.9775 68.01 63.2375 57.205 51.2775 47.11 42.4475 38.945 35.595 33.28 31.13 29.4575"
For Digital Negative:
LINEARIZE="29.4575 31.13 33.28 35.595 38.945 42.4475 47.11 51.2775 57.205 63.2375 68.01 72.9775 76.5225 79.875 83.7275 86.44 88.8375 90.2525 91.52 92.22 92.575"
---------------------------------
Then I pasted the line (LINEARIZE="29.4575 31.13...") to the bottom of my previous ink description file,opened QTRgui curve creation dialog, clicked on the "show curve" and got the message:
Invalid linearize curve - not constantly increasing. Curve Creation failed.
But if I pasted the LINEARIZE data not for Digital negative(LINEARIZE="92.575 92.22..." ), it could be linearized.
Then I read the instructions again and in the document of "QTR 2.7&Eye-One spectrophotometer", it reads:
The last line has the linearization info. Triple-click on it, Copy the whole line and Paste it to the bottom of the ink description file. Re-process the ink file with Drop-Quad-Profile.
Sorry to say that I couldn't even find where this "Drop-Quad-Profile" locates.
I have also try to sustitude lineazation with Gray-curve. I scanned the step-21X4-random stepwedge print,read the k value of the first line,made a correction curve for the negatives in PS, opened QTRgui "Gray Curve",browse and navigate to the location of the curve. But the result seems worse than before. For example, I got K values of 68 for the patch of 70 without the Gray-curve, but now a K value of 50. (Does it matter that the profile and the curve file hasn't be kept in the same directory?)
Really have no idea now. How can I lineaze? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!!
