Hello,

I know that the higher end Epsons, such as the R2400, will accept fine art papers, that have a greater thickness. Does anyone know if the lower end Epsons like the R260, R800 and others will accept thicker art papers, such as water color? What are the limitations in regards to thickness with these printers? I have in mind something like Fabriano 140lb & 300lb papers.

Regards,
Martin

2400 is something like 1.2mm thick. Chris at Inkjet Art has made an adapter and even run CD's through their 2400.

Thanks Greg for reminding me about the CDs. While I'm not looking to do that, I recalled most the lower end Epsons did have CD trays for printing. So perhaps that looks somewhat promising.

I know that the R800 has trouble with some thicker papers but I don't know the limits.

I'll keep this in mind. I may shoot an email over the tech support or give them a ring Monday.

You are better off cheking with some of the knowledgable paper folks than with tech spt at Epson, especially on the consumer side. Check with Jim Doyle at Shades of Paper or Drew at Red River Paper, either will be able to give you a definitive answer.

Thanks Ted... I'll take your advice and send them an email.
